Our number one FAQ. Claustrophobia is often about the surrounding anxiety induced because of the perceived loss of control. In our tanks you’re always in control of your environment. You can turn on the light. You can get out of the tank. And you can always leave the door open. We’re happy to show you that our tanks are very spacious, there’s no teeny tiny spaces to worry about here.
Do I have to stay in and float the whole time? +
There aren’t any locks on the tank doors, and you can get out whenever you’d like. 60 minutes goes by far quicker than you’d think. We suggest sticking out your float session, but you’re the boss.
Is this like Altered States? +
Yes, but you’re not fully submerged in water, you don’t eat ritualistic mushrooms, and only a small percentage of floaters turn into proto-human monkeys.
Can I float if I’m menstruating? +
Sure. Just prepare like you would if you’re going swimming.
Do I need to bring anything? +
If you have long hair, you may want to bring a comb. If you wear contacts, bring something to put your contact lenses into while you’re in the tank. Other than that, we provide everything you need.
Can I float if I just dyed my hair? +
We can’t say for certain that the solution won’t strip some of the dye from your newly dyed do. We’d suggest coming in when the water flowing through your hair in the shower at home is fully clear. Just in case.
Can I float if I’m pregnant? +
Pregnant women greatly benefit from the zero-gravity environment provided by floating! Many pregnant women report lower back pain relief and general relaxation. If you are in your third trimester, or have any concerns, please consult with your physician before coming in.
What kind of tanks do you have? +
We have two different float tanks. Both made in America. Our Float Pod is a space-like pod, which includes multi-colored LED lights, 24/7 filtration and MP3/iPod capability. Our Escape Pod tank has more of a classic look and feel. Like the Pod, this tank has white LED lights, waterproof speakers, an NSF certified filtration system and low-pressure UV system. They’re so cool.
How do you clean the tanks? +
The water is filtered 3 times between each float removing any particulate matter and the water also passes through a low-pressure UV system which targets the DNA and RNA of bacteria, viruses, algae and other biological matter. In addition, Epsom salt is a natural sanitizer. The high concentrations of Epsom salt, intense filtration, UV bombardment, and use of a small amount of H202 disinfectant makes our tanks considerably cleaner than a pool and nearly impossible for microorganisms to survive.
Will my skin dry out if I float? +
Amazingly, your skin won’t even prune up like it would if you were soaking in your home bath. The magnesium sulfate actually makes your skin very silky and soft. Your hair will feel equally incredible. Most people are magnesium deficient and don’t know it. You’ll actually absorb some magnesium transdermally and benefit from the sulfate flushing toxins and heavy metals from your cells. Best part? You don’t have to do anything.
What if I fall asleep in the tank? +
The float environment is very relaxing so you could very well fall asleep. It’s extremely unlikely that you’ll roll in your sleep, but if you did the worst that can happen is getting woken up by a bit of salt water in your eyes or mouth. There’s only around 10” of water so there’s even less chance of drowning.
Do you have floats longer than 60 minutes? +
We have several options. You can book back-back sessions for a super deep 2.5 hour float. And if no one is scheduled to float after you, we’ll always offer to extend your float at no extra charge. Our longer 90 minute and 2 hour floats are available in the later evening and by appointment only. And, of course, memberships are available and can be used to book longer sessions at a more affordable price. We can likely accommodate your request, just let us know.
